Walhalla Oktoberfest

The annual tradition which started in 1979 is Walhalla going to great lengths to celebrate its German Heritage. They make it a point to throw a big joyous party and open their community to residents and visitors. A celebration that usually lasts the weekend through, it is filled with food, frivolity, family activities, and firework shows!

As the dates in which the celebration can vary, it is important to check back with us to get the more up to date schedules. This year, however, it will be held on the third Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of October. Be ready to head on to Sertoma Field to get your hands on authentic German delicacies like pretzels, strudels, and craft beer. Of course, we’ve got some homegrown American fare (hotdogs and barbecues) for you as well.

You can join the dancing and merriment if you’re looking for a really good time. Be lulled into the boisterous fray by The Little German Band and many other local bands and dancers.

There are a lot of booths for art lovers. If you’re planning on bringing some food home to share, there are a lot of kiosks which peddle baked goods and other sumptuous treats.

The children have a lot to look forward to at the “Kinderhaus”. Face-painting and crafts is an annual tradition that both local and visiting youngsters get to indulge in. If that isn’t enough, there are carnival rides that both kids and adults love.

Saturday night usually caps off with a fantastic firework display! So as you can see, Walhalla’s Oktoberfest is a party that you simply cannot miss!

Walhalla Mayfest “Art of Living” Festival

Normally held in early May, it is an annual festival that is made to celebrate the official arrival of the spring season. This festival is definitely a good fit for art lovers. The many vendors all dedicate their wares into showcasing local food, craft, and art. They feature good finds from the surrounding region as well.

Don’t get left behind in all the sumptuous wine tasting on Main St. Feast your eyes on local exhibitions of fine art and architectural projects.  Children will get to enjoy crafts and face painting. You can even go on local tours thrown by the officials.
